With those resources, Google has created more and more software products in an attempt to build a sustainable business outside of the search-based ads that account for most of its revenue — and in attempt to be the center of your computing universe.

The Monday after Black Friday is known as Cyber Monday, created by Shop.org in 2005 after retailers noticed a “trend of people shopping online on the Monday after Thanksgiving.” Shop.org said Cyber Monday is now considered the “ceremonial kickoff of the online holiday shopping season.”

AP - Online auction site eBay Inc. was fined euro1.7 million ($2.5 million) by a Paris court on Monday for failing to stop the sale of famous perfume brands like Christian Dior, Guerlain, Givenchy and Kenzo — all of which are owned by luxury group LVMH.
